Matthys 504 x Jehannes 484
2022 Friesian stallion
Thomas KFPS "Thomas" (Matthys 504 x Jehaness 484), bred by Issac Mallory, is an up and coming young Friesian stallion owned by LEQ. Being started in 2025 by Lowe Show Horse Centre, we are extremely excited about this recently imported Friesian stallion and what he can offer both as a show horse and breeding stallion.
He is sired by Matthys 504 (Norbert 444 x Beart 411), the highest trotting approved Friesian stallion known, and out of LEQ owned Famke Adel B (Jehannes 484 x Jerke 434). Matthys, Jehannes and Jerke and multi-national champion show driving and dressage stallions in the Netherlands.
Thomas comes from a pedigree of dressage champions that should really be Saddleseat horses (but Saddleseat isn't a recognized sport for Friesians in NL) that have exceptional conformation and even better movement. Thomas himself has an extremely long and well set neck, a proportionally sized head, long legs, optimal size back, huge feet, a long and straight tail, exceptionally upright humerus bone/great shoulder and exceptional hocks. There is no doubt he will be a Saddleseat horse and sire talented Half-Arabian babies.

Genotype & Phenotype

Genotype & Phenotype
Some of Thomas' unique physical traits include his amazing neck, large size, and extreme motion front and back.
He has an extremely mellow temperament, the best we have seen in a young horse. He loads, clips, bathes, ties, long lines with plastic bags on, and is very respectful despite being a stallion. We are very excited to work with him under saddle.
As far as genetics, Thomas is homozygous black, so he will always produce black with black horses, and he can never produce chestnut. He can produce bay. He can't produce dorsal stripes or leg stripes. Thomas is clear for the 2 major Friesian genetic diseases, Dwarfism and Hydrocephalus, but carries 1 copy of Distichiasis, a genetic disease that may cause eyelashes to grow on the lower waterline. With research, we discovered that most Friesians carry this disease, due to the Friesian's past (they were heavily inbred, and that resulted in most Friesians having health issues in modern times) but Thomas is one of the cleanest Friesians, genetically, that we have seen, as he is <1% inbred (COI%).
Thomas' first breeding season in 2025 has been a success. We look forward to booking mares to him in 2026.
